Larry found it hard to dance while playing the drums, so he gave up the drums and became the featured entertainer at Scampi's Restaurant and Bar on South Padre Island.

Larry grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He began his music career with the Barons. In 1974, the Barons played at the Radisson Hotel (now the Isla Grand Resort) on South Padre Island. Larry fell in love with the Island and commuted regularly from Milwaukee to play gigs here on the Island. In 1985, he decided to make South Padre Island his home and moved to the island permanently. Larry loves the Island's slow and relaxed pace.

When Larry's not entertaining, he enjoys walks, movies, and tinkering with old cars.
